Back from the Mountain

IMG_1965I haven't had time for a real post lately. The weekend trip with the fam was fun stuff. Great food, snow tubing, frozen lake, etc. And I took lots of pictures. If you're so inclined, you can view some of them here.

A more substantial post is coming soon. It will either be about podcasting (the part 2 I mentioned previously), or about my record-buying habits. I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow. We'll see...

I proclaimed it a snow day for myself... working at home. I can't really think traipsing around in the cold and wet would be good for my recovering cold... paranoid, I know.

Hope you got to take the day!

Unfortunately, I am at work. All I want is ONE snow day, ya know? This just-enough-snow-to-be-annoying crap has got to go.

Ah, good old Deep Creek. The snow makes it look so beautiful and haunting. It almost makes me like it (the snow, that is). Did you get to see that weird church with the neon cross on it on one of the inner roads by the state park? K got some spooky pics of it when we were there in Sept.

Jen: I did not notice the crazy church. The snowy mountains were indeed beautiful. It's very peaceful up there. I really enjoyed it. How was it in September? I bet the peak of the Fall (around October, I guess) is gorgeous.

That's too bad you had to work. It really was like a rain storm with snow. I can't believe we haven't had any snow days this winter either! It could still happen in March, I suppose... though unlikely.

I see you recently saw Garden State. So did I. What did you think? I have to say, while it was definitely good, it wasn't the be-all end-all that the buzz suggested. I kind of felt like I did about Lost in Translation, kind of let down.

I liked Garden State ok. But yeah, I felt similarly about it. Natalie Portman's character annoyed me quite a bit, for example. Still, it was decent for a young guy's first film I guess.
